Interactive Installation

Artist - Erika Lincoln
Title - Free Space Loss

Description from the artist's site...
This project is a D.I.Y. virtual-virtual reality installation in which user input causes images of real landscapes (captured during walks that I have taken near the venue prior to installing the work) to transform into new emergent 3-D topographical maps.

Title - Liquid Prairie:Creeping Change 2007

Another entry from Winnipeg digital artist Erika Lincoln! Here's a snapshot of her description..."In the projection installation the images are mixed in real-time by the software running on a 12 hour cycle. The software runs continually without pause over the length of the festival, taxing a laptop computer to it's operational limits. As the computer runs day and night sequencing errors begin to emerge, established patterns become corrupted and the computer's system becomes unstable.  The result is the images begin to be shown out of order and the melt cycle from winter to spring is corrupted.  This work models how established patterns of seasonal change can be effected by external human pressures."

Artist - Clare Abel
Title - Blackjack (and Co.)

In these hard economic times, it's nice to see a little extra $$$ come our way. Sometimes it's as a windfall. Sometimes you've got to roll up your sleeves and earn it. Well, rolling up your sleeves may not be required for this one, but you're bound to win (or lose your shirt!). At the very least, you'll have fun playing the ever addictive Blackjack, in this easy to use and fun application. If only it was real money! (I'd be in deep with my loan shark. Whew!) This, and a few other gaming applications, submitted thanks to Mr. Abel.

Artist - Devin Reimer
Title -Virtual Spray Paint

Get your tagging fix, without the potential for a bust by the fuzz! (alright, I realize we're no long in the 70s) This project allows a user to use an artificial spray paint can to virtual paint onto a screen at a distance. This gives the user the ability to express themselves as an artist in real-time using cool technology.

Virtual Spray Paint was created using Flash, WiiFlash, WiiFlash Server, two Wiimotes, a bluetooth adapter, an infrared light and a lot of hours of work.

Mullet ManArtist - Ryan Hill
Title - Mullet Man

Here's our first Linear Presentation submission, in full-out, old school Flash cartoon style. Mullet Man is a Flash based music video by local computer Artist and Flash programmer Ryan Hill, with audio accompaniment from the band Ten Too Many. Watch, enjoy, laugh, and learn a bit about the top-of-the-noggin feature known as "hair".
